Hey! I’m Joana, a 25 year old freelancer, who loves all things outdoor, creative and tasty. Throughout my life I have been a curious person and always loved learning new skills. From all that I have since learned, there are two passions that have seemed to stick with me…

COFFEE was one of my early loves. As a child I stole little caffeinated sips from the adults. To me this beverage was always something special. It has always been about more than just a boost of energy. For me, coffee is something to be savoured, something that brings joy and community, something to experiment with; to be perfected, and something that is always developing and evolving. I believe that no matter how long anyone has been in the coffee industry, there is always something new to learn about this fascinating beverage. It sparks joy and creativity and human connection! I have always known that coffee will have a big influence in my life and now I strive to share that passion with others through events and workshops.

KNITTING is a more recent venture. I have fallen in love with this hobby of mine over the past 4 years, because it is so versatile. Simple projects give me a space to zone out and process my thoughts or enable me to keep my hands occupied, while I am listening to or watching something. Small projects enable me to knit anywhere; in public transport, parks or cafes and help me to stay off of my phone! Difficult projects give me a challenge and require me to learn new techniques. Knitting is very special to me. I learnt it from my mother and I intend to pass it on to my own children one day. We still knit together on a regular basis and encourage and help each other with our crafty projects. Just like coffee, knitting is something that connects people, if given the space to do so. This is the reason why I decided to start my knit club and want to start teaching others about this lovely hobby!
